Kayley and David | An Engagement Session in Elora, Ontario

Back in January, I got an email from Kayley asking for information about wedding photography. At the time, she was at school in Mount Allison University in New Brunswick so it wasn’t until May that I was able to meet up with Kayley and her fiance David to discuss their wedding.

From our meeting, I learned that Kayley and David were high school sweethearts. That they are both laid back, outdoorsy kind of couple. That David proposed to Kayley on Christmas Eve last year in front of Kayley’s family. And that Kayley and David are planning to have a Vintage themed wedding.

Vintage themed wedding!

All complete with a vintage inspired wedding gown, a bird cage veil, and gangster suits from the 1940’s for the guys. How cool is that! Just listening to both of them describe how they want their wedding to be got me so excited. I am honestly looking forward to shooting their wedding next year.

For their engagement session, Kayley and David wanted to have it done at Elora, a charming little town where the Elora Gorge is located. This was the first time I’ve ever been to the gorge and though I was a little clumsy going down the slope (being a city girl has its disadvantages), I managed to keep up with the two well enough to capture those tender moments as shown in the photographs below:

Kayley and David...aren’t they gorgeous?

What I love about being a photographer is that I get to capture the intimacy between two people in love. Kayley and David clearly has that. The way they gaze at each other, the way they hold hands. It’s definitely a privilege to be able to witness that.

To finish off, here’s my favourite photo from their shoot. Don’t they look so in love?

You did a great job capturing their interactions and conveying their closeness. I really like the picture of them with the bridge in the background. The gorge looks like a great place to shoot!
